The ride departs from Marblehead Cycle at 5:30 pm, starting out toward the tip of Marblehead and up Beacon Street before taking West Shore Drive towards Swampscott and past Tedesco Country Club as a warmup.
Upon turning back up Atlantic Avenue towards town the pace will increase, culminating with a sprint across the causeway and up Ocean Avenue, with a regroup at the far end of the neck.
The ride ends with clockwise laps around the neck, concluding before dark with a final sprint across the causeway.
Depending on the composition of the group the overall pace will range from 19 to 21 mph, with the fast part of the ride taking place on the Neck.
