About this event

Science & Tech • Science

Intro to GIS in R is a workshop designed to get you started doing Geographic Information Science (GIS) in R. It is, roughly speaking, the R version of Next Steps in QGIS. We will cover setting up R for GIS, getting data in and out of R, data transformation, filtering, and geoprocessing tools, as well as some basic mapping.

Bring a laptop with R and R Studio installed. These are free and open source. R is a programming language and R Studio is a tool made by Posit that makes writing R code easier.

The event will be held in the DataLab Classroom - room 360 Shields Library
