Our mission is to create a RoadMAPP building a sustainable culinary and hospitality industry through workforce development—making it easier to recruit and retain highly skilled talent, to increase and improve industry standards.
📌Join us for MAPP's Advocacy Summit 2025—a powerful day of dialogue, connection, and policy action.
MAPP and the National Partnership for Women & Families are hosting an appetizer and wine reception where you can directly hear from industry leaders of chefs, restaurateurs, food activists and legislators on the most urgent issues affecting policies and workplace practices directly impacting your career growth and business.
This year’s summit will spotlight the people and policies shaping the future workforce and how together we can create a more sustainable care economy, which includes the food and hospitality industries. We’ll bring together a coalition of voices to advocate for real, lasting solutions that support highly skilled trained labor, empower entrepreneurs, and raise industry standards around issues that matter to you like affordable, accessible high quality childcare and paid family and medical leave.
- Workforce and Leadership Development: to solve for one of the highest industry turnover rates (up to 80% annually in the hospitality industry)
- Immigration: to rally bipartisan support for immigrant-ready work programs and a path towards citizenship since 50 percent of the food industry relies on immigrants
- National Paid Family Leave and Affordable, Accessible Childcare
We're honored to be hearing from one of the most notable food activists and DC restaurateurs, Paola Velez.
Also joining us are Hollis Wells Silverman, the creative force behind hospitality group Eastern Point Collective, and Sonya Ali, co-owner of DC's iconic Ben's Chilli Bowl enterprise.
