Map Your Neighborhood with District 2 Supervisor Sherrill & neighbors

By Sue Brown

Overview

Do you and your neighbors know the 9 steps to take in the first 60 minutes after a disaster when first responders will be overwhelmed?

Earthquakes, fires, tsunamis, water and power outages can happen anytime. You can be ready. Neighbors who talk do better in an emergency. We are short-staffed in the FIRE department, so we become the first responders. ARE YOU READY?

Map Your Neighborhood (MYN) is an interactive program to organize neighbors to help each other in an emergency in the crucial 60 minutes after a disaster when first responders are overwhelmed.

Discover your area’s strengths and resources and start mapping your block for emergency readiness. You'll receive a MYN booklet and a desire to connect and share the 9 step response plan.

Join us. Protect yourself. Protect your neighbors. Build a safer community—together.

We’ll be joined by Supervisor Stephen Sherrill who represents District 2. In New York City he contributed to emergency response during Hurricane Sandy for Mayor Bloomberg. On November 8, he’ll be taking the MYN Class alongside the rest of us because he’s interested to learn how this free block-level readiness training can support his commitment to public safety and neighborhoods where communities thrive.

Can't attend this special session organized by Cow Hollow & Marina SFFD NERT Coordinator Anastasia Ashman (anastasia.ashman@gmail.com)? Contact the instructor SFFD NERT Sue Brown (suebrown21@yahoo.com) for other opportunities.
