Manna MLK Jr. Day
Overview
Join us at Manna Food Center's annual MLK Day event to recenter today’s food justice struggles in relation to Martin Luther King Jr.’s life and legacy. This collaborative event will bring together community members, organizations, and local businesses that are critical parts of our food system to discuss pathways towards a food secure and more just Montgomery County.
We will ground ourselves in Martin Luther King Jr.'s life and legacy during our opening session, and move through the intersectional roundtable discussions within justice-driven action in mind. The roundtable themes are:
- Farm and Food Forward
- Im/migration Intersections in Food Justice
- Food Systems and Employment: Growing Opportunities
- Cultural Food Identity and Storytelling
We have incredible partner organizations from across the DMV who will be leading our roundtable sessions! The full event schedule with partner organization information will be shared in early January.
Please email accommodations requests to our Advocacy Manager at akanksha@mannafood.org by January 10th, 2026. We will make a best faith effort to meet all accommodations needs that are communicated to us.
