Managing Employee Leaves of Absence

With the complexity and changes to paid & protected leaves, it can be challenging to identify which types of leave apply and how to best communicate with employes.

This training will cover when employees may be eligible for leaves of absence, how employees are protected, recommended communication regarding leave, and processes for managing leave, including return-to-work.

Outcomes:

• Review employee eligibility under Oregon Paid Leave, Oregon Family Medical Leave Act (OFLA) and the federal Family Medical Leave (FMLA)
• Understand when employees may qualify for one or more protected leaves and the process for designating and tracking leaves
• Understand employer obligations for returning employees to work including the process for evaluating any need/request for accommodation
