Overview
Mālama Mānoa Walkabout: After-School Tour at Lyon Arboretum
Bring the keiki and join Mālama Mānoa for an after-school adventure at Lyon Arboretum on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM.
Educators from Lyon’s education department will lead a family-friendly walk designed to spark curiosity and help children see Mānoa Valley in a new way. Kids and parents alike will discover the stories, plants, and history that make this place such a hidden gem.
This 200-acre tropical botanical garden, managed by the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, is home to more than 6,000 species of plants, with a special focus on native Hawaiian plants, conservation, and Hawaiian ethnobotany.
Know before you go:
- Location: Lyon Arboretum, at the very end of Mānoa Road (this is not Mānoa Falls).
- Parking: Very limited on site (about 5 cars). Please carpool. Overflow parking at the Mānoa Falls lot, then walk up to the arboretum.
