IxDA SF Presents: Making Data Meaningful

The amount of data generated by devices, sensors, and services is growing at an astounding rate. We're inundated with data, yet data alone has no intrinsic value. We have to interpret the data to produce structure and meaning.

At this special event hosted by Jawbone we’ll hear from experts about how they approach working with volumes of data in their products and services to provide meaningful and actionable information that goes beyond simple reporting and typical visualizations, shifting the focus to helping people understand and act on the data they generate and receive.

Our Speakers

Darren Geraghty

Part designer, part engineer, Darren Geraghty is a product designer with a focus on storytelling with data. For the past decade he has been designing experiences across a broad spectrum of sectors. He especially enjoys seeing the positive impact design can have on peoples lives. Prior to Facebook he made things at DERI Semantic Web Institute, Fidelity Labs and Trinity College Dublin.

Ljuba Miljkovic

Scientist-turned-UX-designer. Co-founder and Head of Design at Automatic. Former Head of Product to Head of Marketing. Before Automatic, Ljuba was a UX practitioner at Adaptive Path and an energy technology researcher at UC Berkeley and Stanford University.

Michal Migurski
Code for America

Michal Migurski (CTO) joined Code For America in 2013 where he is responsible for engineering standards and technical sustainability. He’s a Polish National and holds a degree in Cognitive Science from UC Berkeley.
