Event description

Description

There's no doubt that apprenticeships are key to developing skills for the next generation but changes to the system and the way apprenticeships are funded have left many employers confused.

You can find out about support available to employers who want to take on apprentices at this breakfast event, taking place as part of the Leeds Manufacturing Festival.

Hear from employers about how apprenticeships can help meet the challenge of bringing young people into manufacturing and developing the technical, administrative and managerial skills employers need for the future.

You will find out more about the financial and practical support that's on offer to help with recruitment, identifying training providers and the cost of employing an apprentice. You can also hear directly from young people about their experience and what they've gained from apprenticeships.

Kevin O’Reilly from Leeds City College will also explain how traineeships can help prepare young people for apprenticeships and the world of work.

Courtesy of MPM Managing Director Ben Wilson, there will also be the opportunity to round off the morning with a factory tour.

Please note, places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

Leeds Manufacturing Festival is sponsored by RSM, Womble Bond Dickinson, The Works Recruitment and Leeds City College.
