Meet Zuby Onwuta
Zuby Onwuta immigrated to the US with $200 and the dream of becoming a medical doctor. He started pre-med and joined the US Army to serve the country that had given him the opportunity to achieve his dream. Two years later he was medically discharged, after being diagnosed with a rare disease of the retina, Stargardt’s. He then launched a successful career in software engineering, but 15 years later this career ended with the diagnosis of two additional rare eye diseases, cone dystrophy and rod dystrophy.
To address the loss of productivity from using hand-controlled assistive tech, Zuby invented Think and Zoom. The patented technology reads and reacts to human brain waves, allowing blind users to control assistive tech by simply thinking. His goal is to create a world, through affordable technology solutions, where the visually impaired can pursue their dreams and career aspirations.
