Meet Hannah Olson
Hannah Olson (she/her) is a Lyme survivor who has deep roots in the chronic illness community, serving as a global ambassador for InvisiYouth Charity, a National Lyme Ambassador, a Mighty Well Friend in the Fight, and a frequent panelist for diversity and inclusion events.
The idea for Chronically Capable arose after Hannah had to leave her dream job due to the aggressive treatment schedule for Lyme disease that required her to be on an IV for up to 6 hours per day. Although her ambition and intellect were intact, the physical demands of a traditional workplace environment could not co-exist with her life-saving treatment.
Now, Hannah is the founder and CEO of Chronically Capable, a platform that connects people who are chronically ill or disabled with meaningful remote work, and her mission is to make sure no one ever has to decide between their health and work ambitions again.
About Chronically Capable
The unemployment rate for disabled and chronically ill persons is more than double that of non-disabled individuals, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Chronically Capable aims to eliminate this vast gap.
Chronically Capable is an employment platform that connects chronically ill professionals to companies looking to hire a digital workforce and meet the 7% utilization goal required under Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Five years from now, they hope to have eliminated the unemployment gap between chronically ill and non-ill Americans, giving these individuals a sense of purpose, financial independence, and security.
