Make Your Own Shepherds Hook
Come to The Foundry for a hands-on metalworking class where you'll create your very own custom shepherd’s hook—perfect for hanging plants, lanterns, bird feeders, or garden décor. Whether you're new to the metal shop or looking to grow your fabrication skills, this is a great opportunity to make something beautiful and functional.
In this workshop, you’ll:
- Design and plan a custom shepherd’s hook to suit your style
- Learn to make accurate cuts using a chop saw
- Use an angle grinder to prepare and smooth metal edges
- Practice tack welding and final welds using MIG welding techniques
- Leave with a completed shepherd’s hook ready for outdoor use
This workshop is ideal for beginners and those with some fabrication experience. You’ll gain confidence in metal cutting, grinding, and welding while making a unique project to take home and enjoy.
NOTE: Long Sleeves, long pants and closed-toed shoes are required for safety in this shop. No Shorts or Flip Flops! Natural fibers are best as synthetics can melt.

Class Size: Min 4/ Max 6
This class needs to meet the minimum enrollment in order to run. Participants will be notified of cancellation on Monday prior to the first session. In case of cancellation, participants can choose another scheduled date if available or request a refund.
