Enjoy a 'hands on' experience in polymer clay. You will learn the basics of working with polymer using pre-made polymer millefiori themed canes. These tiny designs add up to create your unique expression on a brooch, keychain or pendant.
Polymer is a versatile and captivating medium exploring the possibilities of color, form, shape and texture. Applications are endless! This class is designed to introduce the basics of conditioning, forming and curing the clay. You'll learn the foundational design principles of pattern, rhythm, contrast and movement as you choose embellishments to give work a personal voice. All materials and supplies included. Creative learners will be able to make as many projects as time and allotted materials allow. *Please note all millefiori canes shown are OOAK (one of a kind) and pictures are for suggestion and reference only.

Class is held in the workshop area of Mars Landing Galleries. Enjoy the inspirational ambience of one of Madison County's finest galleries as you create. There's plenty of parking and small town hospitality in this quaint location just 15 miles north of Asheville, NC.
Barbara McGuire is an award winning artist, author and instructor. She has been working polymer for over 30 years with a particular passion for encouraging the creative spirit in artists of all ages.

About the organizer
Barbara McGuire is a multifaceted artist, instructor and author. She is the 2017 International Bead & Button Polymer Clay Bead Dreams Winner and has been teaching polymer for over 25 years. Barbara also creates tools that aid artists with incorporating elements and principles of design into their work. Her deeply etched texture stamps and radial marking tools are available online and at classes. Barbara has written over 10 instructional books and has appeared frequently as a guest artist on televised broadcasts including the Carol Duval show (HGTV), WLOS in Asheville(ABC) and JTV (Jewelry Television). Living in the Appalachian Mountains near Asheville NC, she teaches locally, privately, and online.
