You're invited to join us for the first Make. Do. Session of 2017.
In this Make. Do. Session led by The Beat of Blossoms, make a handmade book to collect and explore memories. Learn color theory and two bookbinding techniques. Receive inspiration from others and leave with ideas for making more art. All supplies provided. However, you should bring a photo of a person or place that you want to remember. Admission is free. However space is limited.
About The Artist
Jamila Zahra Felton is an artist, educator and writer who creates as The Beat of Blossoms. Born in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, she graduated from Spelman College and holds an Ed.M. from Harvard University and an MLIS from The Catholic University of America. A former public school teacher, Jamila has over sixteen years of experience educating youth and adults and works as a librarian in the Washington, DC area.
