In this hands-on class, you’ll build your own custom cheese slicer board using the Rockler Brushed Stainless Steel Cheese Slicer Kit and a variety of hardwoods including maple, cherry, and padauk. This beginner-friendly workshop will teach fundamental woodworking techniques as you glue, shape, sand, and finish a beautiful, functional kitchen piece that you’ll be proud to show off.
What You’ll Do:
- Glue up your board using hardwood strips and Rockler’s Mini Deluxe Panel Clamps
- Flatten both sides of your board using a drum sander
- Square both ends of your board and cut the slicing kerf for the cheese slicer hardware using a Festool Kapex miter saw
- Drill the mounting hole for the cheese slicer hardware using a drill press
- Shape a handle and sand all edges, corners, and surfaces using a range of different tools like a bandsaw or a jigsaw, spindle or belt sanders, and a range of Rockler sanding tools
- Do a final sanding and mount the non-slip rubber feet
- Apply a food-safe finish
- Install the Rockler cheese slicer hardware kit
