Do I need to bring a mahjong set?

Nope! We'll have all the Mahjong gear available to use. If you already have a NMJL card of your own, please bring it, otherwise, we'll have some to borrow.

I have played Mahjong online. Is that enough experience for the Open Play?

Most likely it's not. There are lots of Mahjong apps out there, and while they are fun, many of them use Mahjong tile images for a matching style game. This will give you a little bit of familiarity with the tiles, but the game itself is quite different.

Come play Mahjong with us at Bottle Theory! For players who have already completed a beginning mahjong class.

Come enjoy a casual night of Mahjong at Bottle Theory in Elmhurst. Angela Buikema from Mahjong Mischief will be there for light instruction/assistance for those who have already attended a Beginner/101 Level Class or have other mahjong experience.

Bottle Theory offers craft beer, wine, cocktails, and great comfort food. (Food & beverage not included in ticket price.)

We'll begin promptly at 7:30 pm, so come early to get a beverage or food and to get settled at your table.

All mahjong tiles and tools provided. Please bring your NMJL Card if you have one. There will be some available to borrow or to purchase for $15.
