Yes! The Wine Room offers food & beverages for purchase before, during, or after the class. Please show our host venue some love!

Can I come alone?

Absolutely. Solo guests are seated with others for a welcoming group experience.

Do I need any prior experience?

Accepted Answer

Not at all. Mahjong 101 is designed for complete beginners.

Question 4

Do I need a 2025 National Mahjong League Card for this lesson?

Accepted Answer

No! If you already have one, feel free to bring it, but it’s not necessary. All materials needed for gameplay for this class are provided by ESTATEHAUS Society. If you would like to purchase your own NMJL card after class, we will have some inventory available.

What if I need to cancel Mahjong 101?

Accepted Answer

Registrations are non-refundable. Please make every effort to attend the selected session. In the event of an emergency, a substitute participant may attend.

What if I need to cancel my Open Play registration?

Accepted Answer

Open Play registrations are non-refundable, but you may transfer your ticket to another player if you can’t attend. If fewer than four players are registered, the session will be cancelled and all registered players will receive a full refund or transfer option.

Question 7

I only know how to play the matching tile game on my phone. May I come to an Open Play Session?

Accepted Answer

No. Open play sessions feature the classic American Mahjong table game (a four-player, social format centered on tiles, strategy, and connection). It is not the digital “matching” game often seen in app stores or on TikTok. Mahjong 101 would be the best way to start.
