About Magpie Vocal Improv Ensemble, feat. Roy Willey
Magpie is a collaboration of four dynamic singers who create music spontaneously, without a score, chart, or director. Comprised of Marta Aarli, Celeste Niehaus, Tom Weiser, and Roy Willey, the ensemble’s strength lies in its ability to open to the unknown and transform the immediacy of the moment into compelling, relatable music. Every piece Magpie sings is improvised in the moment, never sung before, never to be sung again.
About Patty Jackson
Patty Jackson is a singer songwriter, multi-instrumentalist performer, teacher, community song leader. She has the voice of an angel with a unique guitar style creating rich chord progressions and stunning textures by using open tunings and multiple capos. Not to be content to be pigeon holed into one style of music, she blends folk, roots, blues, country, americana and a touch of jazz into her repertoire. Recently, she has added ukulele and baritone guitar into her shows. She can get her audience clapping, tapping and singing along with songs of strength and resilience, weaving a spell binding musical story about a little forgotten street in her neighborhood or getting folks laughing about the silliness that can sometimes be the human condition.
