10/04/2025 - Computer Graphics 101

How do you make a computer draw pictures? Our teachers walk through how programmers create pictures with math and code! In this class, students will develop their geometric intuition as it relates to homogeneous coordinates and their relationship to camera projection.

Students will learn:

How to draw with one point perspective

How to visualize objects converging to vanishing points

How early 3D video games use raycasting to simulate perspective

This class is a 1.5 hour lesson that teaches students the history and thought process behind the design of gaming peripherals through history. Students will learn about how gaming controllers are made and have an understanding of how to approach making a controller of their own.
