Overview

An inspiring evening with author Chris Bridge, celebrating Barbara Bush’s legacy and the power of literacy through heartfelt storytelling.

Join us for a meaningful evening as The Houston Club celebrates Barbara Bush Literacy Month with special guest Chris Helene Bridge, author of Ganny Says—a heartfelt children’s book inspired by the wisdom and wit of Barbara Bush herself.

Chris will share her personal connection to literacy and her ongoing partnership with the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation, highlighting her inspiring work to advance literacy in Houston. Guests will enjoy a short reading from Ganny Says, a visual presentation featuring her literary collection, and the opportunity to purchase signed books and holiday gift bundles following the program.

In honor of November Literacy Month, we invite all attendees and Houston Club Members to participate in our Book Drive by bringing a new or gently used children’s book to the event—or donating anytime throughout the month. All collected books will be distributed to local organizations ensuring they reach children who need them most.

Enjoy light bites, meaningful conversation, and storytelling that celebrates the lasting impact of compassion, education, and community.
