About this event

Business • Career

The Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) is a non-partisan, non-profit think tank that produces research and educates policymakers and the public on the implications of Bitcoin and other disruptive digital technologies. Its mission is to provide research-based insights to inform sound policy in the United States and to advocate for a future where digital technologies protect individual rights and reinforce liberal democracy.

David Zell is the Co-Founder and Co-President of the BPI. Prior to his work in the digital asset space, he co-founded ASAP, a nonprofit organization that successfully halted billions in private prison financing. Having studied Political Science at the University of Alabama, Zell brings a strong background in public policy and advocacy to advancing Bitcoin adoption and understanding.

The meeting will take place Wednesday, November 19, at the Harbert Center, 2019 4th Avenue North, in downtown Birmingham. Parking is available in three decks, the closest being directly across the street from The Harbert Center. A lunch buffet will be served beginning at 11:30 a.m. Rotary President Jeff Stone will call the meeting to order promptly at noon and the meeting will adjourn promptly at 1:00 p.m.

Also, please note that while this event is hosted by the Birmingham Rotary Club, all AEC-affiliated guests should purchase their tickets for $25 via Eventbrite.
