About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

The APA-RI Equity, Diversion, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee is holding an event featuring Katherine Levine Einstein and David Glick discussing their book Neighborhood Defenders. The book chronicles neighborhood participation in housing permitting processes and how this process can exacerbate existing political inequalities, limiting the housing supply and contributing to the affordable housing crisis. While neighbors with all viewpoints are welcome, the authors show that the individuals who choose to participate hold overwhelmingly negative views of new housing—far more negative than their broader communities—and are socioeconomically advantaged on a variety of dimensions.
