What does it look like to rest in Christ both in and outside of our work?
Most of us believe that rest is a good thing, but in our always-on, do-more culture, it can be hard to find the time or even feel like we’re “allowed” to rest. Yet God invites us into a different way of life, one where work and rest exist together as necessary, good, and part of his design.
In this next Lunch + Learn, we’ll sit down with Lauren Hall, Chris Sands, and Andrew Kean to hear how they’ve thought about the relationship between rest and work, and discuss the practices and rhythms they’ve used to shape a posture of rest.
You’ll hear stories and reflections from these three leaders on:
- How trusting God affects their ability to rest
- Barriers to rest in different seasons of life and ways to overcome them
- Specific practices of rest
- How to incorporate rhythms of rest in and outside of work
We hope to see you there!
About the series
Everyday situations and events arise that require leaders to act even when they do not know what the outcome will be. The need to fire someone… working on a business merger… rolling out a strategic plan. In all of these things, trust is being put in someone or something. How can Christians practically trust the Lord in these types of workplace situations?
In this series we will hear from professionals all over town who are faithfully trusting the Lord with the businesses they are called to steward.
