Join us to stay current on adoption language and learn ethical considerations within the adoption process!
Adoption doesn't come up very often in perinatal work, but when it does, it is important to be prepared. Clarice Lazary's presentation will provide important information about how to passionately counsel a parent who is considering placing their child for adoption. In addition, this training will include details of all-options counseling including "Open" and "Closed" adoptions along with the many resources that support birth parents.Social Workers participating in this training will be awarded NASW CEU (Certified Educational Units) alongside NBCC credits.
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of up to date and accurate adoption language
- Describe the professional’s role regarding the ethical considerations in the decision-making process of adoption planning
- Identify the differences between private agency adoption and Child Protective involvement
