"Art should be something that liberates your soul, provokes the imagination, and encourages people to go further.”
– Keith Haring
“Lumonics was immersive before it was cool. Experience a multi-sensory journey that refreshes your body, mind and spirit, presented by one of the first and longest-running light art studios in the U.S. — which just happens to be based here."
- Denver Westword
"Entering Lumonics Gallery in Denver is like walking onto a spaceship. When the immersive show begins, it’s as if the spaceship is gearing up for takeoff. It’s trippy, for sure."
- Kelly Hayes, Denver Gazette
You may have seen some of the Lumonics light art at Meow Wolf Denver, McNichols Civic Center Building, the Museum of Outdoor Arts, Fiddler's Green, DIA, Understudy Gallery +. We now welcome you to the source where over 75 light sculptures are on display, and part of the immersive experience presented on Friday and Saturday.
“Nestled in a warehouse in Denver is one of the most unique artistic experiences I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing. By day, the building is home to the Lumonics Light & Sound Gallery — a space that serves as a permanent art installation for the futuristic light sculpture of artists Dorothy and Mel Tanner. But on weekends, the gallery hosts Lumonics Immersed, a mesmerizing and exciting series of live performances."
– Toni Tresca, OnStage Colorado
“This place is such a hidden gem in Denver. The art here has a deep and fascinating history, and the Tanners built a true legacy around it. You can see how spaces like Meow Wolf and other immersive art experiences owe some of their inspiration to what Lumonics has been doing for decades.” - Tyler A.

Thanks to Alex Dozier for surprising us with this video!
Many of the light sculptures, in rotation from a collection of over 200 works, are part of the Lumonics Light Orchestra that we present on Friday and Saturday.
These 2 photos below are examples of some of the source material we use. They are still images from our immersive projection. It begins with making videos on our rides and hikes in Colorado of mountains, streams, forests, and roads, and then transforming them in production and adding an original soundtrack. We think of it as “alchemized nature films”. No AI is involved!
