About Luminous Breathwork
Luminous Breathwork is a transformational practice rooted in the Holotropic lineage and enriched by the contemplative teachings of Mahāyāna Buddhism, which speaks of the luminous mind—a naturally radiant awareness that is present in all beings.
Our method blends:
- Conscious, circular breathing to regulate the nervous system
- Music, movement, and somatic presence to deepen embodiment and emotional release
- Guided inner inquiry to bring unconscious material into conscious integration
- Elements of Mahāyāna-inspired awareness practice, helping you touch into your own unconditioned clarity and compassion
This modality is not about fixing or forcing—it's about remembering what has always been whole beneath the layers of stress, trauma, and identity.
About Your Facilitator(s)
Liya James is the founder of Luminous Breathwork, a certified breathwork facilitator, and a trauma-informed coach with a background in somatic healing, embodiment, and Zen practice. Frequently asked questions
We recommend bringing a mat that you'd feel comfortable laying on for an hour. Yoga mats are fine but some prefer a thicker option. Other items we suggest you bring: a water bottle, an eye mask, a pillow, and a blanket. You are welcome to a sacred item for the altar as well.
