Please join me – an artist, facilitator, and longtime consulter of tarot cards – on this summer’s Full Corn Moon to look at the tarot as a dynamic system. We will examine the narrative meaning and elemental energy of each suit in the minor and major arcana.
Each month for the Luck of the Draw: new moon tarot gathering, we select a card at random, discuss its imagery and meaning, compare decks, and draw our own interpretations. To support myself facilitating those events, I created a chart to help read cards at random and a system that supports intuitive readings of any card or combination of cards. I am offering this special full moon gathering to share this system and help you to create your own chart for reference in your own readings and tarot explorations. We will have a brief show and tell of our charts for those who feel moved to share, and close with a meditative poem.
You will want to have on hand:
~ your tarot deck if you have one;
~ paper, plain copier paper is fine or a notebook if you are keeping a tarot notebook or a big sheet of fine art paper if that pleases you;
~ pens, pencils, markers, crayons, whatever you like to write and draw with; you might enjoy having colors to play with;
~ maybe a straight edge like a ruler or edge of a book;
~ maybe post-it notes or scrap paper for sidebars; and
~ a candle, to light when I light a candle to open our ritual art time together.
If you are new to tarot then I hope you find this a welcoming bridge into mystery, and if tarot is old to you then I hope you find this time set aside to reflect on what overarches, underpins, and connects the cards will deepen your experience with the messages they share with you. I hope you will plan to participate. I am happy to share my practice with you.
