Our featured poets, Alice Persons and Kevin Sweeney, will share a joint reading, followed by an Open Poetry Hour.

About the Hosts and Featured Poets

Anna Wrobel is a historian, teacher, and poet with two published poetry collections, acclaimed history essays, and more in progress blending both genres. The child of Holocaust survivors, Anna’s work has been studied in classrooms across the United States and abroad. She curates and co-hosts the Lowry’s Lodge series at the Maine Jewish Museum.

Jim Donnelly is a musician whose poetry and prose illuminate working-class life in times of economic uncertainty. His two poetry collections, as well as essays and stories, have appeared on three continents.

Alice Persons is a lawyer and animal rescue advocate turned poet and publisher. Based in Westbrook, she has authored several poetry collections and founded Moon Pie Press, which has published more than 130 collections over the past two decades. This beloved small Maine press has received national and NPR recognition.

Kevin Sweeney, originally from Pittsburgh, chairs the English Department at Southern Maine Community College. A poet with multiple collections to his name, Kevin also serves as a poetry editor at Portland’s legendary Café Review. His theater background shines through in his dynamic and captivating readings.
