About this event
Low Intervention is an experimental music series curated by Annie Garlid, which brings together live sets and DJ sets. This month features live performances from Eric Wong & Katie Porter, who are appearing due to the support of the Goethe Institute, as well as Sid Drift, and DJing by C.F.L.H.P.
Eric Wong (b.1981 in Minneapolis, MN) is a Berlin-based musician and sound artist whose work involves auditory perception and the exploration of human relationships with sonic environments. He often incorporates spatialized sound and reduced expressions in his work, focusing on fewer gestures instead of constructing linear or non-linear sonic narratives. He has released music on labels Edition Wandelweiser, Creative Sources, Inexhaustible Editions, Full Body Massage Records, Lona Records, Sello Postal, Vintage Vinyl HK, Party Perfect!!!, Aloe Records, Ftarri, and Infant Tree. www.eric-wong.net
Katie Porter is a Brooklyn-based clarinetist, performer/composer, writer, and artist whose work draws from decades of experimental performance practices to create structures for music perception in space and time (over lifetimes or subtle daily increments/abstractions). She was the 2024 Artist-In-Residence at ISSUE Project Room, and her debut solo album, Conversation No.1/Collecting Rocks from the Places We've Been, on Relative Pitch Records, is "Best Contemporary Classical Music in Bandcamp 2025".
Sid Drift creates hypnotic psych-folk, informed by New York City’s experimental music and sound scene. Using processed 12-string guitar, loops, and baritone vocals, Sid Drift renders lyrical, wide-screen soundscapes - folk-baroque structures meet electronic minimalism in a surreal Americana. The resulting music is a psychic cinema, broadcasting mythologies old and new. Drawing from influences such as Bert Jansch, Laraaji, Kurt Vile & Hiroshi Yoshimura, the songs are at once intimate and atmospheric. Performed and recorded largely as single takes, the songs preserve the immediacy of live performance. A debut EP is slated for release early 2026.
C.F.L.H.P. is an Australian producer, DJ and visual artist based in NYC. Recognized for her raw, and above all ~diverse~ sets she provides a unique and distinctive style in the electronic underground. Delivering an adventurous journey through the realms of deep cut house, proggy hypnotic loops, and minimal bleep-bloops; Kate describes her style as late-night chill rave. in 2024 she launched her own dance imprint, 99FVR.
