Low Down on Law presented by Catherine Davey, Esq
This presentation will explain considerations to think about when seeking guardianship, guardian advocacy, supported decision-making, and substituted decision-making for adults with disabilities. By attending this session, families can save money on legal fees when they have the information they need to make the best decision for their family members. The program will also briefly touch on ABLE, Social Security Benefits, Transition Planning, and Medicaid Estate Recovery.
This informative workshop is designed for parents, guardians and advocates of individuals with special needs. Attorney Catherine Davey will discuss the importance of legal and estate planning for families with special needs. In this workshop, you will also learn the basics of special needs trusts while exploring both guardianship and guardian advocacy.
This registration form is intended for UCF CARD constituent families. All other individuals should register through the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida.
CARD families: The session will feature presentations by Catherine Davey, Esq and associates, associated handouts and materials, and light refreshments sponsored by PALS for participants. In light of the high number of individuals who sign up for CARD and PALS events and do not attend our events, we are requesting a $10 registration for this event. CARD will reimburse registered constituent families who attend, or families can waive the reimbursement to donate it to PALS. Those who do not attend will not be eligible for reimbursement. All cancellations must be received by 48 hours in advance or the registration will be forfeited.
