Love of Lectura ❤️ w/ Ofelia Zepeda
Overview
Join Pima County Supervisor Andrés Cano for the next Love of Lectura gathering featuring Dr. Ofelia Zepeda and her acclaimed poetry collection, Where Clouds Are Formed, on January 8, 2026.
This free community event will include light refreshments and an evening of reading, conversation, and reflection with one of Arizona’s most influential voices in Indigenous literature and language.
Dr. Zepeda’s poems move between English and O’odham, past and present, everyday life and sacred ceremony—holding language, land, and memory in the same hand. Her work reminds us that the desert is alive with instruction and that the words of our ancestors still shape who we are and who we can become.
This event is free and open to the public; registration is required.
Every guest will receive a FREE copy of Where Clouds Are Formed thanks to the generous support of our community partners.
LOVE OF LECTURA is possible with the generous support of:
Desert Diamond Casino, Cox Communications, Diamond Ventures, & Friends of the Pima County Public Library.
