Love Letter to the Land - Hazel Structures in the Garden
Overview
Far from February being bleak; on the cusp of Spring, February is when the land really begins to stir and getting out now to see it all up close and personal is a highlight of the year.
Time outdoors at this time of year is immensely re-energising and rewarding as daylight lengthens and the song birds find their voice again. We can think of no better way to spend Valentine’s day as a gift of love to yourself and the land, or to another.
This day will introduce you to the joys of hazel structures in the garden both for their beauty and playfulness and their utility in protecting or supporting your plants.
You will explore our own Hazel coppices and learn about coppicing as well as take home a structure or two that you have made, plus runner bean/ sweet pea poles and pea sticks to have a further play at home.
Hot lunch and refreshments provided and we will have an outdoor fire to keep us all warm.
