A bit about the October Gallery: The October Gallery, located at 6353 Greene Street in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia, has been a vibrant hub for connecting people with art since 1985.1 It is one of the oldest African American art galleries in the nation, with a mission to showcase and promote African American art and culture. The gallery displays a rich collection of paintings, photographs, and drawings, and is known for its welcoming atmosphere and commitment to art education in the community.2
Whether you're a complete beginner curious about picking up a pencil or an experienced painter looking for a dedicated time to create, you'll find a welcoming space here.
Each session is a unique 3-hour experience, alternating between the dynamic energy of live model drawing and the thoughtful composition of still life painting. 🎨
