About the Program:
This course critically examines the ideological foundations and consequences of “political secularism” and the colonial idea of separating Dharma from the State in the Indian context. It explores both Western and Dharmic frameworks to offer a civilizational alternative rooted in India’s spiritual and cultural continuity.
🧭 Brief Syllabus:
- The original Western notion of “Secularism”: its origin, scope, and limitation
- Genesis of the American doctrine: “Separation of Church and State” — one of the conceptual sources of Indian secularism
- The Indian Constitution: The dilemma and the adopted doctrine of “Secularism (Dharma-Nirpekshata)”
- “India that is Bharat”: A civilizational dilemma between dharma-based unity and colonial narratives
- Sources of misunderstanding, miseducation, and their destructive effects on Bharatiya civilizational identity
- A proposal to replace colonial frameworks through these three core Bharatiya doctrines:🔸 Rāṣṭradharma-Kṣetra (National-Duty Sphere)🔸 Rājadharma-Kṣetra (State-Duty Sphere)🔸 Rājyanīti-Kṣetra (Political Policy Sphere)
- Concluding Thoughts: From deracination to dharmic regeneration
