Local Spotlight Series + Open Mic

Rising Appalachia’s David Brown performs his recent solo project at our next Local Spotlight Series + Open Mic. Tickets include a beverage and charcuterie, with David's solo set and artist chat starting at 7:30pm, followed by our regular (FREE) Open Mic from 8:30-10pm.

We’re so grateful for the energy and heart you all brought to our summer open mic series. This fall/winter, we’re carving out intentional space to highlight the voices that make this valley so special — and still holding space for community expression.

• 6:30pm – Doors open for Social Hour - a beverage (wine, beer, n/a options available) and a charcuterie plate included in ticket price ($25*)

• 7:30–8:30pm – Featured local artist: David Brown

“David Brown is a multi-instrumentalist and singer with deep ties to Appalachian and Irish folk traditions. For more than a decade, he’s been a quiet architect of Rising Appalachia’s folk-soul sound, shaping arrangements and recordings while touring across 30 countries. His work has aired on NPR’s All Things Considered, shown up on Tiny Desk Concerts, and found its way to stages like Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Originally from the mountains of Western North Carolina, he currently resides in Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley. His 2025 release, The Long Branch Sessions, was recorded in a century-old mountain cabin, offering a sparse and unvarnished take on traditional music with long-time collaborator Duncan Wickel. His solo work traces a long devotion to songcraft, tone, and the quiet joy of making music by hand.”
