Join us to hike Mount Trail in Idaho Springs! At 13,127 feet this hike is an out and back trail that is 6.3 miles long with 1,788ft of elevation gain and listed as moderate hike. Individuals who have not hiked a 13er are encouraged to attend!

Please note that this is hike is at high altitude. To mitigate altitude sickeness please be well hydrated and make sure to eat a hearty dinner and breakfast prior.

Please arrive by 8am as we will be starting our hike promptly at 8:15am to avoid potential afternoon thunderstorms!

IMPORTANT: Participants must be 18 years of age or older to attend.. Each participant should reserve a spot with their own name and email, and complete an individual waiver.

If you cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible by cancelling your tickets or by replying to the Eventbrite email so that we can release spots to those on the waitlist.

What to Wear

  • Non-cotton shirt
  • Non-cotton or jeans pant
  • Sturdy hiking/trail running shoes or hiking boots
  • Wool or synthetic socks if possible
  • Sun hat (baseball cap, hat with wide brim, visor, etc.) and/or sunglasses

Packing List

  • 1 liter of water mininum
  • Lunch and snacks (sodium and protein are good to include in your meals during this hike)
  • Rain Jacket
  • Warm sweatshirt, fleece, or puffy jacket (we may encounter intense wind which can make it feel much colder)

Dogs Welcome: One of our leaders will be bringing their dog (leashed the whole time). Dogs are welcome if they’re leashed, well-behaved, and have experience hiking at altitude.

Facilities: There is a restroom at the trailhead

Terrain: The trail begins with the Mines Peak switchbacks and the trail continues to get narrower and less defined once you get beyond the winter park and closer to the Mt. Flora summit.

As a volunteer-led chapter of Latino Outdoors, we rely on the language skill sets of our volunteers and partners. Due to limited capacity and funding, we are not able to provide consistent multilingual, Spanish-language programming, or other Native languages.
