Join us for the 11th Live Music Project birthday shebang on the back patio at Saint Bread bakery!

We're trying really hard to not fill this invitation with puns about being strung along, strung out, or generally unstrung, but we promise that by the time the party is over, we'll all be wired and fired up after hearing from the one and only Isabel Hagen, stand-up comedian and classically trained violist.

You might be wondering if Isabel ever combines viola and comedy. The answer: sometimes! Will today be one of those days? Only time will tell.

Our (potentially unstrung) musical guests will be announced soon.

Drop by, settle in at a picnic table, and revel in the music and community that surround us.

Food, drink, and soft serve (!) are available for purchase. Your eyes can feast on the delectable menus at this very moment.

Admission is free, and all ages are welcome!

For the full schedule, check out the listing on the Live Music Project concert calendar.

Saint Bread: Open until 8pm for food, pastries, non-alcoholic and some canned/bottled alcoholic beverages. Pastries and sandwiches are available on a first come, first served basis.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Isabel Hagen is a stand-up comedian and classically trained violist. Every little girl’s dream. As a comic, she has been featured twice on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and was a New Face of Comedy at the Just for Laughs festival in Montréal. Isabel started stand-up right after earning her Bachelors and Masters degrees in viola performance from the Juilliard School.

As a violist, Isabel has played in the orchestra for several productions on Broadway including Les Miserables, Fiddler on the Roof, The Lion King, and Rocktopia. She has performed and worked with numerous artists such as Björk, Ed Sheeran, Max Richter, The National, and Steve Reich.

You might be wondering if Isabel ever combines viola and comedy. The answer: sometimes!

Isabel's feature film On a String, which she wrote, directed, produced, and starred in, premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Festival where it won Best Screenplay in a U.S. Narrative Feature.

ABOUT OUR HOST

Saint Bread is a bakery and community space on the Portage Bay waterfront near the University of Washington. Our name comes from the Danish words for true bread – sandt brod – and our playful interpretation nods to Plane Bread, and our belief in tending to something is a sacred act.

Before it was a bakery, 1421 Boat Street was owned by the Jensen family of boatbuilders, and housed the Jensen Motor Boat Company. With a wink and a nod of thanks, we hope to honor their legacy as Saint Bread, with the Jensen Marina Project, and as stewards of the great space they so carefully built with care by hand.

Saint Bread operates with intentional and unwavering commitment to doing what is best for ourselves and our community.
