Live From The Stacks
Overview
Every hour, on the hour, we’ll pair compelling community voices with skilled facilitators to explore stories of independence — personal, political, cultural, and creative. The result is a day-long event rooted in manaʻo, connection, and ʻike — and a new podcast series that extends the impact beyond the walls of Native Books.
Why It Matters
Lā Kūʻokoʻa is a time to reflect on the endurance of Hawaiian sovereignty — and to spotlight the living stories that embody it. This format allows us to uplift local thinkers, artists, kūpuna, and changemakers in a way that’s accessible, engaging, and lasting.
Beyond the Day
After the event, each recorded conversation will be professionally edited into a podcast episode — allowing the stories shared to live on as a permanent digital archive and resource.
