Litter Cleanup at the EEC

Litter Cleanup at the EEC

By Don Edwards SF Bay National Wildlife Refuge

Overview

Join us to help clean up the trails around the Environmental Education Center!

After the long government shutdown and recent rains, the trails and roads around the Environmental Education Center (EEC) at the Don Edwards SF Bay National Wildlife Refuge can use some TLC! Help us pick up litter to help keep our wetlands and public use areas clean for the benefit of both wildlife and people!

Please note, volunteers under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Other Considerations:

  • Driving Directions: We recommend using Google Maps and mapping to the "Environmental Education Center (EEC)" or 1751 Grand Blvd, Alviso, CA 95002.
  • Wear comfortable clothing, long pants, sun protection and layers, and closed-toe shoes - all that you don't mind getting dirty! We will provide gloves and all other tools and supplies for this event, but you are welcome to bring your own if preferred.
  • Restrooms will be available on-site in the form of an ADA-compliant portable toilet and hand-washing station.
  • With the exception of service animals, pets are not allowed at this portion of the Refuge.
  • We can sign off on volunteer hours. Bring any forms you need filled out.
  • If you need any accommodations, reach out to watershedwatchers@sfbayws.org.

This program is brought to you by the San Francisco Bay Wildlife Society, the nonprofit Friends group to the San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge Complex, with support from the Santa Clara Valley Urban Runoff Pollution Prevention Program.
