Abstract

In this talk, I will present an anonymized case of a desister. A young adult male began treatment hoping to transition but over the course of our work together, he decided that his trans identification was not serving him. This presentation will consider possible factors that led to this young person taking on a trans identity and consider the potential function it played in his life. We will look at the factors that led to desistance and briefly explore the role of therapy.
