Not at all! We'll start the evening out with beginner dances that are perfect for new dancers.
We've found the best shoes for dancing on turf is something with a smooth bottom like a leather soled cowboy boot. Other good options are old tennis shoes with very little traction on bottom.

We advise arriving about 15 minutes early to get checked in. Better yet, come an hour early and enjoy dinner at one of the surrounding restaurants!
For the first hour (7-8 pm) we'll be learning 3-5 line dances and dance them to music. During the second hour, we'll re-dance what we've learned and then have open line dancing until 9 pm.
If your child wants to learn to line dance, they are welcome in the dance area. We typically find that kids 9 and older can follow along and dance well with us. Younger than that, they and our other dancers would be safer if they danced off to the sides or in the back.

Sara Elder has been teaching line dance for 2 1/2 years. She has lived in Fort Collins for 32 years, has 2 grown sons, 1 grandcat, 2 granddogs, and 11 chickens. You'll see Sara on many dance floors throughout northern Colorado, line dancing and country couples dancing as well.
Jo Dee has taught ballet, modern, jazz, character, musical theatre and group fitness classes. Line Dance is her new favorite way to kick it on the dance floor, so let’s start KICKIN’ IT at the mall!
