Light in the Darkness: Benefit Dinner & Auction

In Alaska today, over 600 certified teacher positions are vacant across public schools. Some schools even started the year without a single certified teacher on staff.
Meanwhile, teacher turnover is running high: nearly 22–24% of Alaska’s teachers leave their positions each year.
These shortages hit hardest in rural and remote elementary schools—where a shortage doesn’t just mean one absent staff member, but where entire classrooms may go without trained educators.

That’s why we’re gathering for our Light in the Darkness Benefit Dinner & Auction, to raise scholarship funds for the Future Educators of Alaska Scholarship program at Alaska Bible College—lowering financial barriers so more students can train as elementary teachers and bring light to these underserved classroom settings.

The evening will feature:

Silent Auction — bid on exceptional items and experiences.

Comedy Night — laughter with special guest comedian Jaron Myers.

Dinner & Community Fellowship — sharing food, stories, and a common purpose.

Every ticket, auction bid, and donation helps send more certified teachers into Alaska’s most challenging classrooms.
