The move from high school into college, training, or the workforce can be exciting—but for youth with disabilities and their families, it often comes with unique challenges and questions. How will accommodations work in college? What supports are available in the workplace? How can students build independence and confidence as they prepare for adulthood?

As part of our National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) webinar series, this session will explore the critical steps in planning for life after high school. We’ll cover practical strategies, key milestones, and essential resources to help students, families, and educators navigate the transition process with confidence.

What you’ll learn:

  • How IEP and 504 supports shift after high school.
  • The differences between IDEA in K–12 and ADA protections in college or work.
  • Career exploration tools, internships, and workforce programs that support transition.
  • Building self-advocacy, independent living, and workplace readiness skills.
  • Resources for families, including Ticket to Work and local workforce programs.

Whether you’re a student, parent, educator, or service provider, this session will provide actionable information to help bridge the gap between high school and what comes next.
