Visual Studio Code
is a lightweight cross-platform code editor from Microsoft that provides rich development capabilities, such as intellisense, debugging, code completion, navigation and refactoring, but without the overhead of a full-featured IDE like Visual Studio 2015.  It’s an ideal tool for building JavaScript applications and has first-class support for TypeScript, a superset of JavaScript that adds static typing and object-oriented constructs such as classes and interfaces.  In this webinar, Tony Sneed will provide practical suggestions and concrete examples for building TypeScript libraries using Visual Studio Code, including how to automatically compile TypeScript to ECMAScript 5 whenever a file is changed, how to perform unit testing with Jasmine and Karma, and how to generate source maps so you can set breakpoints and debug your TypeScript code.

Tony Sneed has worked for 20 years as a professional developer on the Microsoft platform and has provided expert technical training on the .NET Framework to hundreds of developers. As a consultant for Wintellect, he designed and developed a high-performance enterprise service bus and a single sign-on solution based on Windows Identity Foundation. He is the author of the popular Simple MVVM Toolkit for WPF, Silverlight, Windows Store and Windows Phone, and Trackable Entities for Entity Framework and ASP.NET Web API. Over the past two years his technical blog has attracted over 300,000 visits from 110 countries.

Tony is a frequent presenter at .NET developer groups and conferences, and has written articles for MSDN Magazine. He currently resides in Kosice, Slovakia, with his wife and three children.
