Scranton native Jane Jacobs influenced generations of urban policy makers with her 1961 book, The Death and Life of Great American Cities. Now the author of a new biography of her is coming to Scranton to talk about her legacy.

Robert Kanigel, whose book is Eyes on the Street: The Life of Jane Jacobs, will deliver the Lackawanna Library System’s next Library Lecture on Wednesday, October 26, at 7 P.M. in the Scranton Cultural Center.

Kanigel was a guest of the Library Lecture Series in 2012 after publication of his book, On an Irish Island, about the Great Blasket Island, a remote spot off the west coast of Ireland, one of the last outposts of ancient Irish language and culture.

Funding for the Library Lecture Series is provided by the Lackawanna County Office of Arts and Culture.
