Course Description: Enhance your therapeutic practice and gain valuable insights into supporting non-monogamous clients in our course, “Liberated Love: A Therapist's Guide to Non-Monogamous Dynamics.” This informative and interactive training is designed for therapists who seek to deepen their understanding of non-monogamy and develop more affirming and inclusive therapy practices. Course Objectives:

1. Explore Types and Dynamics of Non-Monogamy: Participants will explore various types of non-monogamous relationships, examining their specific dynamics, motivations, and challenges to enhance their understanding of diverse relationship structures.

2. Recognize Myths and Confront Misconceptions: Attendees will learn to identify prevalent myths and misconceptions about non-monogamy, empowering them to effectively address these biases in their therapeutic practice.

3. Develop Inclusive Therapeutic Practices: Participants will gain practical tools and techniques to support non-monogamous clients by assessing and revising their therapeutic frameworks. This includes designing or refining client intake forms and assessment tools to better accommodate and affirm non-monogamous identities and dynamics, ultimately fostering inclusive and affirming therapy environments.

About Your Instructor: Sarah Wolfer (she/they) is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and the founder of Courageous You, a private practice based in Seattle, WA, providing telehealth services to clients in Washington, Idaho, and Florida. With a Master of Social Work (MSW) earned in 2012, Sarah has devoted the first half of her career to social services and community mental health, serving as a mental health professional, clinical supervisor, and program manager before transitioning to private practice in 2020. Sarah specializes in working with LGBTQIA+, non-monogamous, and neurodivergent individuals and relationships. As an egalitarian polyamorist, relationship anarchist, and non-binary queer person themself, she employs a variety of therapeutic modalities—including cognitive-behavioral therapy, parts work, and ketamine-assisted therapy—tailored to the unique needs of their clients. Additionally, Sarah is a clinical supervisor and offers consulting on topics related to queerness, non-monogamy, and neurodivergence.
