Join the Lewis Latimer House as we commemorate Lewis Latimer's 177th birthday! This annual event features lively performances and exciting STEAM activities for the whole family!



Celebrate Lewis Latimer’s legacy as an inventor and creative with our community partners.

  • Explore symbolism and printmaking with Mr. Bentley of Vaughn Bentley Creative.
  • Experiment with simple circuits and learn about electrical engineering with Beam Center.
  • Illuminate a cardboard structure and learn more about what powers your home with STEM Kids NYC
  • Transform your dreams into to vivid art by creating a pillow collage with Yes Girls Create.
  • Learn about the connections between art and the natural environment with the Queens Botanical Garden.



Participate in an interactive music workshop with Yahoteh Kokayi of BK Music Learning and learn more about building strong communities and legacies through resources from Ponce Bank, Presbyterian Hospital, the Queens Public Library, and the National Association of University Women, Inc. (NAUW) Flushing North Shore Branch.
