Level One Improv: Introduction to Improvisation
Overview
Intro to Improv is the perfect starting place for anyone curious about improv comedy—whether you’re looking to get on stage, boost your confidence, or just have a blast trying something new.
In this seven-week class, you’ll learn the basics of improv by saying “yes,” jumping in, and discovering what happens next. Together, you and your classmates will create characters, scenes, and stories as an ensemble. The class wraps up with a fun, supportive student showcase where you’ll share what you’ve learned with family and friends. No experience necessary!
In this course, you’ll explore:
- Meeting new people & playing like a kid again
- Spontaneity and going with your gut
- Building stories as a group
- Agreement & “yes, and…”
- Listening and responding in the moment
- Creating environments on stage
- Developing characters
- Short-form improv games
