Students will explore a number of techniques towards the aspirational goal of character agility: being able to create various living-and-breathing characters - imbued with emotion, perspective, attitude, and physicality. Building on the emotional content work of the previous level, students will work to create characters with driving passions and objectives and learn to react honestly from these strong character choices. This class includes a student showcase. The prerequisite for this class is completion of Level Three Improv* at Stomping Ground.
*No advanced placement is available for this class for students with equivalent training from other theaters or training center.
This course will focus on:
- Finding Character Physicality, Attitude, and Voice
- Creating a Character through Different Inspirations
- Finding Your Character’s Obsession
- Exploration of Status and Its Impact on Interactions
- Supporting the Scene with Different Devices
- Developing Characters in Long Form Improvisation
This is a 7 week recurring in-person course held Tuesdays 7-9:30PM starting Tuesday, October 21st. The instructor is Melanie Robinson. All sales are final. Listed price of class does not include Eventbrite's service fee (3.7% + $1.79) and payment processing fee (2.9%) which will be added to the total price at checkout. Classes are non-refundable but enrollment may be deferred to a future class with TCD approval. All students must adhere to policies in the Stomping Ground Student Handbook.
