About this event
Mountain biking is such a rad sport—and it’s about to get even radder.
Learn to pump terrain and fly with smooth ease.
30% of your fee supports trail maintenance at Valmont Bike Park. This class is fully permitted and insured.
Where are these classes held?
These sessions are held at Valmont Bike Park in Boulder, CO. Location is subject to change due to weather, crowds and trail conditions.
Lee Likes Bikes is a Valmont Bike Park Official Adventure Provider specializing in adult skills clinics. 30 percent of your clinic fee goes straight to the park. I've been teaching for more than 20 years with all permits and insurance — and a perfect safety record. If you want to rally jumps and just plain shred, I'll help you do it safely.
Who are these classes for?
I don’t believe in levels because all riding comes from the same fundamental skills, which we improve infinitely over time. I will teach you everything you are ready to learn safely.
If you are a beginner, I’ll give you a solid foundation the take you straight to high level riding. Skip all the trial and error (and fear, and bad habits).
If you’re an intermediate rider, I’ll show you an even more effective—and way more fun—way to ride your bike. Go faster with less effort. Ride more safely. Shred new terrain. Every advanced thing you want to do is built on the core skills I teach. After class you'll be an expert.
If you fancy yourself an advanced rider, good for you. That’s quite the accomplishment. No matter how good you are, I will blow your mind at how simple and awesome riding can be. If you’re a recreational rider I guarantee PRs and great times. If you’re a professional racer, this class will increase your income. Really. It's a smart investment in your own future.
You should be of driving age (I do make exceptions; email leelikesbikes@gmail.com). You should know how to ride a bike. Your bike should fit you and be in good working order. It should be a mountain bike. You will need to lower your seat. You will need a helmet and gloves. Additional padding is encouraged.
I will not allow you to do any move — drop, jump, backflip — that you are not ready for. Our injury rate will remain zero. I don't know of any other MTB skills coach who can say that.
What will you learn?
I know you’re busy, so I’m going to deliver 4 hours of fun, applicable learning. I will focus on the most important skills:
• Balanced, effective riding position
• Safe, controlled braking that generates traction
• Confident, quick cornering that generates traction and speed
• Smooth, safe terrain pumping
• Riding up and down obstacles
• Dropping
• Jumping
IMPORTANT: I do not skip steps, and I will not let you do something unless I know you’re ready.
Improve on your own — and with our help
I believe the greatest improvement comes from a combination of individual learning and practice and in-person time with a qualified instructor.
Lots of riders all over the world—beginners to pros—are reaching new levels of shred with the www.llbmtb.com online mountain bike school. When you combine the online learning with an in-person clinic or group ride, your skills — and fun — will skyrocket.
When you sign up for an in-person LLB experience, you’ll receive a free month of access to the LLBMTB online mountain bike school. I'll send details after you register.
You can call me Professor Shred
Hi, my name is Lee McCormack, and I like bikes. Over the past 23 years I've helped millions of mountain bikers ride better via video and article views, hundreds of thousands via my 11 books and more than 10,000 via in-person coaching, including 2,000 volunteer youth mountain bike coaches.
As part of my commitment to the sport, I've created the only holisic system for bike selection, bike fit, riding skills and mental training. My methods are simple, grounded in science and proven to work with real people on real trails.
When I'm not teaching throughout the world, I serve as adjunct professor of mountain biking at Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs, CO. Yep, they call me Professor Shred!
Come on out: As great as mountain biking is now, it’s about to get way better!

5-Star Google Reviews
Mark Richards: Lee is an incredible mtb coach and instructor. He is a fantastic teacher of all the mechanics, form and line choices that will make you safer and faster. However the best part is his approach to the inner game of riding - he is a master at the art of helping you safely overcome fear to quiet your mind and experience new levels of flow and joy on the bike.
John Carr: Lee and his teaching methods are the only resources I will recommend to friends (new or experienced riders). I've followed Lee's writing for a long time, have worked with Lee using the RipRow, and recently did a full-day class with Lee. The instruction itself was excellent, but his ability to adapt his delivery or coaching cues to what I needed from moment to moment was truly impressive. Within a few runs on a pump track, he was able to diagnose a root-cause and correct something that I've been trying to figure out on my own for years. His coaching and coaching methods have drastically improved my safety, speed, and control on trail.
Skylar Cook: Lee is a damn magician. A 3-day workshop completely transformed my riding, my perspective on biking, and gave me the tools to self-diagnose and progress for years to come! ...
Minh Huynh: Lee is a highly-effective teacher who will transform your riding, no matter if you're a beginner or a pro. And if you're up for it, he'll also elevate your entire outlook in life!
